Man removed from hotel after alleged threats with a sword

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A man was removed from a local hotel Saturday after allegedly threatening staff and displaying a large sword.

According to police, officers responded to the hotel around 2:45 p.m. after staff reported a guest, identified as Reed, exhibiting aggressive and threatening behavior.

Hotel staff alleged that Reed verbally threatened them while handling a “Civil War-style” sword in a menacing manner.

Police said Reed refused to leave the premises after being advised he was no longer permitted on the property.

Reed was ultimately removed from the hotel.
