Southeast Missouri Pets overwhelmed after intake of 14 cats, seeks community support

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri Pets is seeking donations after taking in 14 cats from the apartment of a recently deceased woman.

The cats, along with a few deceased ones, were found in the apartment. Shelter officials say the cats’ behavior and condition indicate they were well cared for.

However, the shelter is already at capacity due to kitten season and is struggling to cope with the unexpected intake. Donations are needed to provide spay/neuter services, vaccinations and basic veterinary care for the cats.

Those wishing to donate can do so through:

Facebook or in-person donation at SEMO Pets, 180 Weston Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701
