Saint Francis Healthcare System celebrates 150 years of service
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Saint Francis Healthcare System is celebrating 150 years of providing healthcare services to Cape Girardeau and surrounding areas.
The healthcare system began in 1875 in a 12-room home on Themis Street and has grown into a 306-bed tertiary care hospital with over 400 providers serving 29 counties.
A commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony held on July 31 at noon in the Healing Garden on the Saint Francis Medical Center campus. Saint Francis president and CEO Justin Davison will speak about the healthcare system’s history and future vision.
Saint Francis Healthcare System is guided by its mission to provide healing, wellness and quality care inspired by its faith. Founded by Franciscan Sisters, the healthcare system prioritizes serving patients with dignity, compassion and joy.
