President Trump signs VA Home Loan Program Reform Act into law

WASHINGTON (KBSI) — President Trump has signed the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act; a measure aimed at helping veterans avoid foreclosure.

The law creates a partial claim program, allowing veterans struggling with mortgage payments to receive federal assistance through other housing programs.

U.S. Rep. Mike Bost, chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, was present at the White House ceremony and called the legislation “important” for modernizing the VA Home Loan program.

The measure is supported by various stakeholders, including the Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Association of Realtors and several veterans’ organizations.
