Massac County authorities conduct search for wanted individual

METROPOLIS, Ill., (KBSI) — A manhunt is underway in Massac County, with authorities urging residents to exercise caution and remain vigilant.

The Massac County Sheriff’s Office, Metropolis Police Department and Illinois State Police are searching for an unknown white male, last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt, who fled on foot following a vehicle pursuit in the area of 145 and Marion Road.

Residents are advised to lock their doors and vehicles, and to report any suspicious activity to 911 immediately. Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area until further notice.
