Vehicle crashes into residence in Williamson County, Illinois
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A vehicle left the roadway, traveled through a cornfield and struck a residence’s front porch in Williamson County on Thursday.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 19000 block of Corinth Road at 11:04 a.m. after receiving a report of a vehicle accident.
The driver reported a mechanical issue caused the accelerator to become stuck, resulting in the vehicle’s departure from the roadway and collision with the residence.
The driver sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Williamson County Fire assisted at the scene, shoring up the front porch to allow for the safe removal of the vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
