Law enforcement investigates shooting, injuring 20-year-old man in Marion

MARION, Ill. — The Marion Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a 20-year-old man.

The victim, who was shot in the upper arm, was treated and released from Deaconess Illinois Medical Center after reporting the incident around 10:49 a.m. on Aug. 15.

The shooting allegedly occurred in the 400 block of Cline Street, where the victim resides. Police canvassed the area but found no evidence.

Marion High School, Marion Junior High School and Longfellow School were briefly placed on soft lockdown as a precautionary measure.
