Missouri Fire Departments receive $10,000 grants
MISSOURI (KBSI) – Three Missouri volunteer fire departments have been awarded $10,000 grants through the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program, a joint initiative by State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council.
The grant recipients are the Martinsburg Area Fire Protection District, Seneca Fire Department and Terre Du Lac Volunteer Fire Department in Bonne Terre.
The program awarded a total of $1.5 million to 150 volunteer fire departments nationwide, providing critical funding for equipment and gear to support local firefighting efforts.
Many small-town and rural fire departments operate on limited budgets, making it difficult to afford essential equipment. These grants will help departments purchase necessary items such as personal protective equipment, EMS and rescue tools, and communication devices.
State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council have partnered to support volunteer fire departments, recognizing the critical role they play in keeping communities safe.
