Illinois launches statewide direct college admissions program

CHICAGO, Ill., (KBSI) — Gov. JB Pritzker and the Illinois Board of Higher Education have announced the launch of One Click College Admit, a statewide direct admissions program for Illinois public universities and community colleges.

The program allows high school seniors and community college transfer students to receive automatic acceptance to state institutions based solely on their grade point average.

One Click College Admit eliminates the need for applications, fees, essays and letters of recommendation.

“By removing barriers to higher education, we’re empowering more students to succeed,” Pritzker said.

The program aims to increase accessibility and equity in the state’s higher education system.

Students can participate in the program by creating a Common App account and entering basic information and their GPA.
