(KBSI) Route BB in Scott County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction as contractor crews perform roadside improvements including drainage improvements and widening the shoulders. 

This section of roadway is located from Route 114 to Route ZZ near Sikeston, Missouri.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, Sept. 8 with anticipated completion Thursday, April 2, 2026. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. A pilot car will be used to guide traffic.

The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace the Route ZZ bridge over Main Drainage Ditch in Stoddard County. The bridge is located between U.S. Route 60 to County Road 612/West Grant Street, west of Dexter, Missouri.

Work to replace the bridge could begin as early as spring 2027. As construction is underway, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the structure for approximately four months.

Maps, plans, and other information prepared by MoDOT will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.

Any person affected by this project may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to Assistant District Engineer Jason Williams at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025.
