Life;Story 5K to raise awareness for Suicide Prevention in Marion

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) – The annual Life;Story 5K Walk/Run will take place Saturday, Sept. 6, at Ray Fosse Park in Marion.
Registration opens at 6 a.m., followed by a Kids’ Dash at 7 a.m. The 5K begins at 7:45 a.m., with a keynote speaker and award ceremony scheduled afterward.
The event raises awareness for suicide prevention and supports mental health and addiction recovery services provided through Centerstone.
Aaron Ceibert, is the Marketing and Community Relations Manager for Centerstone, Illinois, he says ‘So for us, this gives us the ability to do some fundraising so that we can basically earn some more money, to be able to help our communities and stuff and then with the event itself that actually allows us to be able to bring the community together whether it’s somebody who’s lost somebody to suicide, has attempted themselves, or is just a supporter of this great cause. ”
