Waltonville man arrested on drug, protection order charges

WALTONVILLE, Ill., (KBSI) – A Waltonville man was arrested Aug. 27 after Jefferson County sheriff’s detectives said they found evidence of illegal drug activity while serving a search warrant.

Detectives were investigating a violation of an order of protection when they executed the warrant at 6 Circle Drive. During the search, investigators said they discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The primary resident, Jeremiah L. Phillips, 26, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of violating an order of protection, and possession of drug equipment.

Phillips was taken to the Jefferson County Jail pending a pretrial detention hearing. Authorities noted he is considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
