Fire damages grain bin in Advance

ADVANCE, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters responded late Sunday to a grain bin fire after receiving a report of a possible motor malfunction.

The Advance Fire Department said crews were dispatched at about 9:58 p.m. for a report of a grain bin fan motor fire. When they arrived, the reporting party told them the grain bin itself was on fire.

Firefighters worked with the property owners to remove affected grain and began extinguishing the blaze.

The department thanked the Zalma Fire Department, Bloomfield Department of Public Safety and Bell City Fire Department for providing tanker support.
