Several injured in McCracken County crash; Hopkinsville man cited

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Several people were injured Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash in McCracken County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the collision occurred about 6:27 p.m. Aug. 31 at the intersection of McKendree Church Road and Childress Road. A preliminary investigation found that Jon Day of Hopkinsville was driving west on Childress Road when he ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle carrying five occupants.
Multiple people were taken to local hospitals with non-incapacitating injuries, deputies said.
Day was cited for driving on a DUI-suspended license (third offense), DUI-substance (second offense), first-degree wanton endangerment and disregarding a stop sign.
The West McCracken Fire Department, Concord Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS and Vanzant’s Towing assisted at the scene.
