CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Police Department will implement special traffic and parking restrictions for the 2025 SEMO District Fair to help manage vehicle flow around Arena Park and during the annual parade.

“No Parking” signs will be placed around Arena Park on Friday, Sept. 5, and will be enforced beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be towed at the owner’s expense and may be ticketed, police said.

Additional parking restrictions will be in place Friday in Capaha Park, on Northwest End Boulevard and on Perry Avenue for the SEMO District Fair Parade, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Capaha Park will close at 5 a.m. Saturday, with only parade vehicles allowed inside. Participants may be dropped off at West End Boulevard and Normal Street. Parade entries must enter from Broadway and Perry. No southbound traffic will be permitted at Perry and Dunklin, and drivers who bypass barricades may be cited.

West End Boulevard between Broadway and Parkview Streets will close at 7 a.m. Saturday for parade staging. During the parade, Broadway west of West End, Kingshighway between Broadway and Cape Rock Drive, and Kingshighway from Hopper to Kiwanis will be closed.

From Sept. 6–13, parking at the Cape Girardeau Police Department headquarters (2530 Maria Louise Lane) and Municipal Court (2536 Maria Louise Lane) will be limited to official police or court business. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense, and tickets may be issued.
