Orange Barrel Report September 2

(KBSI) A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning a daytime lane restriction along Interstate 69 (formerly the Purchase Parkway) in Graves, Hickman and Fulton counties starting Wednesday, Sept. 3, as part of a micro-surfacing project.

The work zone will extend from mile point 20.3 (approximately one mile south of I-69 Exit 21) in Graves County to mile point 1.84 (between I-69 Exits 1 and 2) in Fulton County.

Crews will work in smaller segments within this zone, starting in the southbound lanes between Wingo and Fulton, followed by a shift to northbound lanes. Once complete, crews will move to the section between Mayfield and Wingo.

The project includes the application of a leveling course followed by a micro-paving treatment to improve ride quality and extend pavement life.

Motorists should be alert for signage and be prepared to shift into the open lane. Use appropriate caution.

A reduced speed limit of 55 mph will be in effect in the work zone.

The overall project is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, weather permitting.

Route J in New Madrid County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

This section of roadway is located from Route 153 to Route 62 near Malden, Missouri.

Weather permitting, work will take place Wednesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 4 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily.
