MARBLE HILL, Mo., (KBSI) — A Cape Girardeau man was arrested Monday evening after Marble Hill police said methamphetamine was found in his vehicle during a shoplifting investigation.
Police said Lt. Wheeler responded around 6:17 p.m. Sept. 1 to a business in Marble Hill for a reported theft. During the investigation, Wheeler contacted Dustin Williams in a vehicle parked outside. After speaking with Williams, Wheeler requested a Bollinger County K9 unit for an open-air sniff, which indicated the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle turned up two large bags of a white crystal substance and a digital scale. Police said the substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Williams was taken to the Bollinger County Jail and formally charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. A warrant was issued and bond was set at $30,000 cash or surety.
The Marble Hill Police Department thanked the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance. Authorities reminded the public that Williams is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
