JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Jackson High School students are paying tribute to the victims and heroes of Sept. 11, 2001, through a series of activities designed to honor the memory of that day.

Recent U.S. history students partnered with the Jackson Fire Department this week to participate in a 9/11 Stair Climb. Wearing fire gear, students walked up and down three flights of stairs to recognize the bravery and sacrifice of first responders.

In addition, librarian Cyndi Roach created a gallery walk throughout the school’s halls, guiding students through the timeline of the terrorist attacks.

School officials said the activities gave students an opportunity to reflect on the courage, unity, and resilience displayed during and after the tragedy.
