PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) – Santerre International, a Paducah-based startup founded by Mark Anderson, has been awarded a $100,000 Challenge Grant from the Bluegrass AgTech Development Corp.
The company is developing a zero-waste process that converts invasive carp into fertilizer products for organic producers. The innovation aims to address a major challenge for Kentucky’s organic farms, which often face limited access to affordable and consistent soil amendments.
The recognition comes on the heels of Santerre International winning the People’s Choice Award at the West Kentucky Innovation Challenge Pitch Competition in May.
Officials said the grant reflects ongoing investment in startups reshaping the future of food, farming and sustainability in Kentucky.
