Hundreds gather for prayer event for Charlie Kirk in downtown Marion

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — Hundreds of people gathered at Tower Square Plaza in downtown Marion on Sunday evening for a prayer event in memory of Charlie Kirk, conservative figure recently killed, organized by Redemption Church of Johnston City.

The event concluded with a candlelight service, as participants raised lighters and cell phones in solidarity.

Local law enforcement was present to provide crowd control and ensure public safety. No incidents were reported.
