(KBSI) Route 72 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction as construction crews perform asphalt overlay overnight.

This section of roadway is located from County Road 335 to Route 61 in Jackson, Missouri.

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will close a section of Wren Road at its intersection with U.S. 60 in McCracken County, starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

The closure, from Crossett Road to U.S. 60, will remain in place until about Nov. 17 as crews work to rebuild entrances and realign Wren Road with the new U.S. 60.

Wren Road is located at U.S. 60 mile point 0.6, between KY 2532/County Line Road and KY 995/Rice Springs Road.

Motorists should self-detour; local traffic only.

A temporary traffic diversion on U.S. 60 near Queensway Drive is expected to open later today, Monday, Sept. 15. This planned alternate route will help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently while work continues nearby.
