Cleanup planned for Capaha Park Pond amid algae concerns

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — City officials say steps are underway to improve conditions at Capaha Park Pond following community concerns about excessive algae growth.
The city has been working with the Missouri Department of Conservation to address the problem.
Officials said a contractor with specialized equipment has been scheduled to perform a comprehensive cleanup.
“We recognize and understand the community’s concerns regarding the current state of the pond, and we want to assure residents that steps are being taken to improve its condition,” city officials said.
