Murray Police Department; man allegedly tried to grab children at Murray apartment complex

MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) – The Murray Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person at an apartment complex Friday at 3:43 p.m.

Officers said they found an intoxicated man, identified as Dawson McCoy, 26, of Murray, who had allegedly grabbed two young children and attempted to get them to go with him. Both children were able to pull away from McCoy, according to police.

McCoy was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping of a minor and alcohol intoxication.

The Murray Police Department reminds the public that all individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
