WEST FRANKFORT, Ill., (KBSI) — A Cape Girardeau man is facing multiple felony charges in Franklin County after authorities said he traveled to meet a minor.

David Alan Weaver, 63, was arrested Monday and booked into the Franklin County Jail. He is charged with one count of traveling to meet a minor, a Class 3 felony, and Class 4 felonies of indecent solicitation of a minor and grooming.

West Frankfort police said Weaver’s arrest followed an investigation by a private agency that conducts undercover operations in the region.

A judge denied Weaver pretrial release Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in court again Oct. 1.
