K9 Axel assists Carlisle County deputies in school safety operation

BARDWELL, Ky., (KBSI) — The Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office and its K9 unit conducted a random drug search Thursday morning at Carlisle County High School.
Deputy Ben Green and K9 Axel searched the school while students were placed under a brief instructional lockdown, according to the sheriff’s office. No incidents were reported.
Officials said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
“We are grateful for their service and proud to have such dedicated individuals watching over our community,” the district said in a statement.
