Cape Girardeau’s Parade of Lights returns Nov. 30 with ‘Charlie Brown Christmas’ theme

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Old Town Cape, Inc. will host the 33rd Annual Parade of Lights on Sunday, Nov. 30, beginning at 5 p.m. in downtown Cape Girardeau.
This year’s theme, “Charlie Brown Christmas,” was selected by parade chairs Kent and Vicki Zickfield, owners of Zickfield’s Jewelry & Gifts on North Main Street.
Spectators can expect holiday-themed floats from area businesses and organizations, along with a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Entries will be judged in categories including best theme, best business or organization, best nonprofit, best music, best lighting, best marching band and the chairman’s award.
The parade will begin at Broadway and West End Boulevard, proceed east down Broadway, turn right onto Main Street and end at the parking lot across from Hutson’s Big Sandy Furniture.

Sponsors for Christmas in Downtown include Drury Southwest, Rhodes, The Rhodes Group and Saint Francis Healthcare System. The Downtown Cape Girardeau Community Improvement District is sponsoring the horse and carriage.
