KSP Post 1 to conduct traffic safety checkpoints across western Kentucky
KBSI FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Kentucky State Police Post 1 will conduct traffic safety checkpoints in multiple western Kentucky counties to check for compliance with state motor vehicle laws, including impaired driving statutes.
KSP said the checkpoints are designed to improve roadway safety and deter violations of the Kentucky Revised Statutes. Troopers will focus on equipment deficiencies, valid driver licensing, proof of insurance and proper vehicle registration.
Motorists stopped at checkpoints should have their driver’s license, registration receipt and proof of insurance readily available. Officials said drivers with proper documentation, no violations and minimal traffic congestion can expect delays of no more than a few minutes.
Supervisory-approved checkpoints will be conducted in Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, McCracken, Marshall and Trigg counties.
A full list of checkpoint locations is available at Kentucky State Police.
