DSAGSL to host SEMO Step Up for Down Syndrome walk and festival Oct. 4 at Capaha Park

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis will host the annual SEMO Step Up for Down Syndrome on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Capaha Park Shelter No. 2 in Cape Girardeau. The family event features a short awareness walk and a festival with food, games, music, vendors and prizes — all with a dinosaur theme.
Festival activities begin at 10 a.m. A brief awareness walk around the park will start at 11 a.m. Attendees may start a team in honor of a loved one with Down syndrome and fundraise for prizes; fundraising is optional and admission is free.
SEMO Step Up for Down Syndrome raises awareness and supports programs for individuals with Down syndrome and their families across southeast Missouri. Proceeds stay local to fund educational resources, family support and community outreach.
