BLOOMFIELD, Mo., (KBSI) — The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of Deputy Holden Duckworth, who died in an off-duty accident, officials announced Saturday.

In a statement, the department described Duckworth as a dedicated law enforcement officer, mentor and friend whose commitment to serving the community was evident in all he did.

“Deputy Duckworth had a bright future in law enforcement, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled,” the release said. “We ask that you keep Holden’s family, friends, and the entire law enforcement community in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”

The statement concluded with a tribute: “We love you, 894. We’ll hold the line from here.”
