(KBSI) — Nighttime work will begin Monday on a section of Interstate 24 in Marshall County as part of a project to reinforce the shoulders of two bridges, transportation officials said.

The work will affect the I-24 bridge over U.S. 62 at Exit 27 near Kentucky Dam and the Tennessee River bridge at the Marshall–Livingston County line.

Crews are expected to close portions of I-24 overnight for about seven nights while law enforcement officers’ direct traffic along designated detour routes.

In Missouri, the Department of Transportation announced additional projects in Pemiscot County:

Route Z will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction for pavement repairs between Route 412 near Hayti and Route 164 near Steele. Work is scheduled from Monday, Oct. 6, through Thursday, Oct. 9, between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Southbound Interstate 55 will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as crews repair a bridge between mile markers 17 and 15. That work is scheduled from Monday, Oct. 13, through Wednesday, Oct. 15, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution in all work zones and watch for crews and equipment.
