HERRIN, Ill., (KBSI) — A Herrin woman was arrested Monday after Williamson County sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen vehicle reported out of Jackson County, authorities said.
Deputies located a 2010 Nissan Titan around 2:19 p.m. traveling north on Park Avenue before it pulled into the Walmart parking lot in Herrin. Multiple deputies boxed in the vehicle and took the driver, Jessica R. Walker, into custody without incident.
A search revealed methamphetamine in Walker’s purse, according to the sheriff’s office. The truck had been reported stolen Oct. 4.
Walker was charged with:
Possession of a stolen vehicle (Class 2 felony)
Possession of methamphetamine (Class 3 felony)
Driving while license revoked (Class A misdemeanor)
Possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor)
Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich praised deputies for their continued efforts to recover stolen property and make arrests tied to vehicle theft cases.
“In 2025 alone, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office has recovered dozens of stolen vehicles and made a significant number of arrests tied directly to these cases,” Diederich said. “These results are not isolated incidents; they reflect the ongoing commitment of our deputies and our partnerships with surrounding agencies. Every recovery not only returns property to its rightful owner but also removes offenders from the streets. The message is clear — crime will not be tolerated in Williamson County.”
Walker was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
