WEST FRANKFORT, Ill., (KBSI) — Ameren Illinois says power has been restored to most customers affected by a widespread outage Wednesday linked to an issue at the company’s West Frankfort substation.
Approximately 1,000 customers remain without electricity as crews continue repair work, according to Ameren officials. The utility estimates that full service will be restored within the next two hours.
“We appreciate customers’ patience as our crews work to complete repairs and fully restore service,” Ameren said in a statement.
