WEST FRANKFORT, Ill., (KBSI) — The Frankfort Community Unit School District #168 and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Local #817 have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract, the two sides announced Thursday.
The joint announcement from Superintendent Matt Donkin and AFT Local #817 President Tim Aldridge marks a breakthrough after months of negotiations between the district and its educators.
Both the district and the union will now present the tentative agreement to their respective members for review and a vote in the coming days.
Details of the proposed contract have not yet been released. If approved by both parties, the agreement would finalize a new collective bargaining contract for teachers in the district.
