Randolph County agencies conduct active shooter incident management training in Prairie du Rocher

PRAIRIE DU ROCHER, Ill., (KBSI) – Members of the Randolph County Critical Incident Committee partnered with the Prairie du Rocher Fire Department to conduct Active Shooter Incident Management Training designed to strengthen multi-agency coordination during large-scale emergencies.
The training, held Oct. 28 at the Prairie du Rocher Fire Department, brought together local firefighters to enhance communication, scene security, and unified command during active shooter incidents.
Participants took part in classroom and tabletop exercises focused on establishing coordinated command structures, tactical emergency medical response, and communication under high-stress conditions.
Firefighters from the Maeystown Fire Department also participated in the training.
Officials expressed appreciation to the Prairie du Rocher Fire Department for hosting the event and supporting regional preparedness efforts.
