PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) – Perryville High School received a $20,000 grant from Dollar General’s Yellow Glasses Project to support the school’s library, which lost 90 percent of its collection in the March 14 tornado.
Representatives from Dollar General visited the campus Thursday to present the donation. PHS Librarian Heather Baskin applied for the grant and said the funds will be used entirely to purchase new books.
The district expressed its gratitude to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation for supporting students and helping rebuild the school’s culture of literacy.
