Kentucky State Police arrest Calloway County man on felony drug and weapon charges

KIRKSEY, Ky., (KBSI) — Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 troopers arrested a Calloway County man Tuesday following a two-vehicle collision in the Kirksey area.
Shortly after 4 p.m. CT on Nov. 4, troopers responded to Backusburg Road and Marigold Drive for a report of a non-injury crash. During the investigation, Trooper Underhill determined that one of the drivers, identified as Justun Wallmann, 48, of Kirksey, was under the influence of intoxicating substances.
When Trooper Underhill attempted to place Wallmann under arrest, he resisted and fled on foot. Trooper Underhill deployed her Taser and was able to gain control of Wallmann, who was then taken into custody.
A subsequent search of Wallmann’s vehicle led to the discovery of a handgun, approximately 70 grams of methamphetamine, and 25 pills pending laboratory identification.
Wallmann was charged with:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree
- Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree
- Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug
- Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container
- Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Substances
- Resisting Arrest
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (on foot)
- Reckless Driving
After being medically cleared, Wallmann was lodged in the Calloway County Jail. KSP thanked the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office and Murray-Calloway County EMS for their assistance.
