Illinois State Police investigate woman’s death in Cairo home

CAIRO, Ill., (KBSI) — The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 7 has launched an investigation after a woman was found dead inside a home in Cairo.

According to preliminary information from state police, the Cairo Police Department requested assistance after discovering the woman in her residence in the 2000 block of Elm Street around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.

ISP Zone 7 special agents responded to the scene to conduct a death investigation. Authorities said the case remains in its early stages, and no additional information about the woman’s identity or the circumstances of her death has been released.

State police said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
