Sikeston man arrested for failing to register as sex offender

BENTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Lee Jr. Mays of Sikeston following an investigation conducted on Nov. 5, Sheriff Derick Wheetley announced Thursday.

Mays has been charged with failure to register as a sex offender, a violation of Missouri Revised Statute 589.400.

He is being held at the Scott County Jail on a $100,000 cash or surety bond.
