Baptist Health Paducah names Honey BEE award recipient

FOX23 News at 9 p.m.

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Shawn Kinsey, PharmD, a clinical staff pharmacist specializing in critical care and oncology, has been named the latest recipient of the Honey BEE Award at Baptist Health Paducah.

The Honey BEE Award honors staff members who exemplify compassion, empathy, trust, teamwork, and a commitment to going above and beyond to create exceptional patient experiences. The recognition is presented quarterly to one employee who embodies the hospital’s mission of “Being Extraordinary Every Day” — or BEE.

Kinsey was nominated by Kim Brown, director of oncology at Baptist Health Paducah, who commended his diligence and collaboration in ensuring the safety and accuracy of a complex cancer treatment plan.

“On July 21, 2025, Shawn noticed that a patient’s chemotherapy orders didn’t appear to align with the original treatment recommendation,” Brown wrote. “He worked closely with the treating physician to clarify and confirm the correct therapy based on the patient’s specific protocol. Thanks to Shawn’s careful review and teamwork, the patient received the appropriate treatment — demonstrating the vital role our pharmacists play in delivering safe, high-quality care every day.”

Community members and staff are encouraged to nominate colleagues for future Honey BEE Awards. To learn more about career opportunities at Baptist Health Paducah or to submit a nomination, visit Careers with Baptist Health – Baptist Health.
