GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says a second suspect has been arrested following an overnight pursuit involving a stolen vehicle out of McCracken County.

Deputies responded around 1:35 a.m. Wednesday to the 5300 block of KY 58 East after a stolen Dodge Charger left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned several times. A juvenile was taken into custody after fleeing the crash scene on foot.

Investigators determined a second person had also been inside the vehicle and had run from the area. Deputies identified the suspect as 19-year-old Xavier Hodges, of Paducah and Arkansas, and searched nearby fields and wooded areas until daybreak.

At about 7:08 a.m., residents in the 5600 block of KY 80 reported seeing someone matching the suspect’s description. Hodges fled again from a Kentucky State Police detective but was later spotted running through a field and taken into custody by Graves County deputies.

Authorities believe Hodges was the driver of the stolen vehicle at the time of the crash. Deputies also learned Wednesday that a loaded handgun found inside the car had just been reported stolen to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office from the same area where the Charger was taken.

Hodges is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding in excess of 100 mph, receiving stolen property (auto), possession of marijuana and additional offenses. He was transported to an out-of-county detention facility.
