KBSI FOX23 News at 9 p.m.

(KBSI) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning a daytime lane restriction on Interstate 24 westbound near mile point 9.8 in McCracken County on Wednesday, Dec. 3, for bridge inspection work.

This is at the bridge over Pool Road and the P&L Railway tracks.

Work hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert for signs directing traffic to shift into the westbound left lane.

Please use caution where workers and equipment are along the roadway near traffic flow.

The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve two bridges located on Route A in Wayne County.

The bridge projects include:

Rehabilitating the Route A bridge over Otter Creek, located south of County Road 430.
Replacing the Route A bridge over Small Creek, located between County Road 371 and County Road 400.
Work to improve the bridges could begin as early as winter 2026-2027.

During construction, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of each bridge for approximately two months, weather permitting. Construction schedules will be coordinated to avoid closing the bridges simultaneously.

If assistance is needed in another language, please contact MoDOT Project Manager Seiji Shimbo at (573) 472-5389 by Friday, Dec. 5, 2025.

Any person affected by these projects may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to District Engineer Donnie Brown at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025.
