GRANITE CITY, Ill., (KBSI) – Granite City High School’s National Honor Society collected 1,151 food items on Saturday as part of the annual Scouting for Food drive, the district announced. The donations filled three truck beds and will help stock local food pantries.

District officials thanked residents who placed items out in blue bags for pickup, noting the strong community response.

“It’s an honor for our students to support Scouting for Food and give back to the community,” the district said in a statement.
