Paducah man arrested on multiple child pornography charges after cyber tip

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Paducah Police Department detectives arrested a man Wednesday on multiple child pornography charges following an investigation into his online activity.
According to the department, detectives began investigating Robert A. Riley, 61, of Paducah, on Nov. 24 after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators determined Riley had distributed child sexual abuse material through social media and online storage platforms.
Detectives executed a search warrant at Riley’s residence in the 5800 block of Benton Road on Nov. 26. During the search, officers found 29 additional images of child sexual abuse material on his cellphone, along with a small amount of methamphetamine, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.
Riley was arrested at 8:22 a.m. on Nov. 26 and booked into the McCracken County Jail. He is charged with:
- 28 counts of possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12
- 4 counts of possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor over 12 but under 18
- 2 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor over 12 but under 18
- 1 count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12
- First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
The investigation is ongoing.
