FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Jackson Police Department is advising residents of road closures and parking restrictions ahead of the 2025 Uptown Jackson Revitalization Organization Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday, December 6, at 5 p.m.
This year’s parade route is reversed from previous years. The parade will begin at Jefferson Street and High Street and conclude at Morgan Street.
Parking will be prohibited beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday on the following streets:
- Both sides of High Street from Madison Street to West Main Street
- Both sides of Main Street from Farmington Road to North High Street
- Both sides of Madison Street from South Hope Street to South Missouri Street
- Both sides of Jefferson Street from South Hope Street to South Missouri Street
Vehicles parked in these areas after 2 p.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense. Police say the restrictions are necessary for the safety of spectators and parade participants.
Road closures will begin at 3 p.m. around South High Street and Jefferson Street near the Old City Cemetery to allow for parade lineup. The remainder of the parade route will close at approximately 4 p.m. for the Merry Main Street Mile Race, which follows the parade route. The race will begin at West Main and Morgan streets, travel along the parade route, turn around on South High Street and return toward Ford & Sons.
The parade route will remain closed for the start of the Christmas Parade at 5 p.m. Normal parking and traffic flow will resume immediately after the event. Police urge drivers and pedestrians to use caution following the parade.
According to parade organizers, if inclement weather occurs, the parade will be rescheduled for Sunday, December 14, with the same route and start times.
