PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Emergency Management Agency says a semi rollover is blocking the westbound ramp from Alvin Barkley Drive/U.S. 62 to Interstate 24, and the closure is expected to last for an extended period.
Officials said the semi’s driver was able to exit the cab, and first responders are on scene. Fuel leakage has also been reported.
A large wrecker has arrived, and recovery efforts are underway. Authorities are urging drivers to continue using alternate routes to enter I-24 westbound until the ramp is cleared.
The DES Rescue Squad has been dispatched to assist with traffic control and support. Emergency management officials advise motorists to avoid the area and expect heavy emergency traffic.
