Kentucky food drives collect thousands of donations ahead of holidays

FRANKFORT, Ky., (KBSI) — Gov. Andy Beshear praised Kentuckians for their generosity following successful food drives held around Thanksgiving.

Beshear said the Team Kentucky Food Drive collected more than 12,000 food items, while the Kentucky State Police “Cram the Cruiser” campaign resulted in donations totaling more than 306,000 pounds of food.

“Thank you,” Beshear said, noting the efforts reflect Kentuckians’ continued commitment to helping neighbors in need.
