Carbondale distributes hundreds of winter food boxes to support local households

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Despite cold winter temperatures, residents and volunteers gathered to support one another during the City of Carbondale’s Winter Food Box Giveaway.

City officials said hundreds of food boxes were distributed to households in need, helping families access essential items during the winter season. Organizers noted that the event reflected strong community spirit, with volunteers assisting residents throughout the distribution process.

The city thanked the organizations, volunteers and residents who participated, saying the event highlighted Carbondale’s commitment to neighbors helping neighbors.

City officials also extended holiday wishes to the community.
