WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A woman was arrested after deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office recovered cocaine during a traffic stop late Friday night.

Deputies stopped a vehicle at about 10:56 p.m. Dec. 20 on Illinois Route 148 south of Marion after a computer check showed the vehicle had a suspended registration and the registered owner’s driver’s license was revoked.

The driver, identified as Crystal B. Bauer, was taken into custody without incident. During an inventory search of the vehicle, deputies found a clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine, authorities said.

Bauer was cited for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), a Class 4 felony; driving while license revoked, a Class A misdemeanor; and suspended registration, a Class A misdemeanor.

She was transported to and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.
