Carbondale to launch 2026 “At the Table” Dinner & Dialogue Series Jan. 6

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The City of Carbondale will launch its 2026 Carbondale “At the Table” Dinner & Dialogue Series on Jan. 6 at the Carbondale Civic Center.
The series will be held on the first Tuesday of each month through June 2026. The Dinner & Dialogue program brings community members together for facilitated conversations on topics including culture, history, racial healing and community engagement, while sharing a meal.
The Jan. 6 gathering will focus on the theme “Healing Through Dialogue,” inviting participants to explore how conversation across race, culture and generations can promote community healing. Attendees will learn about the history, purpose and impact of peace circles and other dialogue-based practices. The evening will also include an introduction to practical dialogue facilitation techniques that participants can use in future sessions and in other community settings.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the Dinner & Dialogue beginning at 5:30 p.m. Seating is limited.
