(KBSI) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning a work zone lane restriction on U.S. 641 South in Calloway County starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8.

A crew will be repairing potholes at the 6-mile marker, south of Murray near KY 2547.

Work is expected to be completed by 1 p.m.

Motorists should be alert for signage and be prepared to shift into the open lane in the work zone. Use appropriate caution.

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning to close Van Cleave Road at mile point 2.3 in Calloway County starting Monday, Jan. 12, to begin work on a bridge replacement project.

The closure is located at the bridge over the East Fork Clarks River, northeast of KY 80.

The project, which is included in the state’s six-year highway plan, represents an investment of $646,520.

Jim Smith Contracting is the prime contractor. Construction is expected to be completed by early May, weather permitting.

Motorists are asked to self-detour.

Approximately 478 vehicles travel this section of Van Cleave Road in an average day.

Route 51 in Perry County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance on the Chester Bridge over the Mississippi River.

This section of roadway is located from County Road 946 near Claryville, Missouri to E Kaskaskia Street in Chester, Illinois.

Weather permitting, work will take place Thursday, Jan. 8 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
